Cholayil Group, the FMCG
company and makers of the popular Medimix soap brand, is mulling a
chain of its holistic wellness centres, christened Sanjeevanam, in
different cities across the country. By the end of the current
year, the company plans to open 100 such centres.
Detailing the company’s
plans, A V Anoop, director of Cholayil group, told Business
Standard that the concept of Sanjeevanam is that each centre would
have a wellness clinic manned by professional practitioners of
various treatments like ayurveda and naturopathy , and a
restaurant where only holistic food would be served.
“The wellness clinics and the restaurants will
follow the naturopathic principles. The food served will be sans
any masala, oil or other ingredients considered incompatible with
a healthy diet. They will be purely holistic,” he claimed. This
apart, the holistic wellness clinics would have a panel of eminent
ayurvedic and naturopathic practitioners and dieticians.
As a trial, the Cholayil
group has started two Sanjeevanam centres at Thalassery and
Taliparamba in the state. Another one in Badagara is under
construction.
“Initially, the Sanjeevanam
centres are being designed with the South Indian cities in mind.
After cities in Kerala and other South Indian metros are covered,
we will look at Delhi and then later on spread to the whole of
India. The first choice is indeed South India ,” Anoop added.
The modalities of the project
and the cost involved are on the discussion table, he said. “We
plan to come out with a franchisee model to open the Sanjeevanam
centres. A lot of enquiries have been pouring in and we are
seriously considering them. Besides, recruitment of the personnel
is also a major issue here in the sense that the best in the field
are to be selected to man these holistic wellness centres,” he
added.
The FMCG company had very
recently relaunched its flagship soap brand Medimix in a new
packaging.
